Conversation: Marikina

November 15, 2011

Nikki: We will be having a report tomorrow.
Tagalog: Magkakaroon tayo ng pag-uulat bukas.
Angelie: What’s the topic?
Tagalog: Ano ang paksa?
Nikki: It’s all about ‘Marikina’.
Tagalog: Tungkol sa ‘Marikina’.
Angelie: What have you researched?
Tagalog: Ano ang nasiyasat mo?
Nikki: Most people know that Marikina is known as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines.
Tagalog: Halos lahat ng tao alam na ang Marikin ay kilala bilang Shoe Capital ng Pilipinas.
Anglie: Yeah, I know that too.
Tagalog: Oo, alam ko din yan.
Nikki: It’s was given that title because of its notable shoe industry.
Tagalog: Binigyan ng ganyang titolo dahil sa kabantugan sa industriya ng sapatos.
Anglie: As what I’ve learned from our past lessons that Marikina consists of sixteen barangays.
Tagalog: Ayun sa aking natutunan sa ating nakaraang leksyon na ang Marikina ay binubuo ng labing anim na mga barangay.
Nikki: That’s true.
Tagalog: Too yan.
Angelie: We need to research more.
Tagalog: Kailangan na nating magsaliksik.
Nikki: Of course, let’s go.
Tagalog: Oo naman, tara na.
Angelie: Okay.
Tagalog: Okey.
