The Lady and the Chef Conversation

Apr 27, 2011

A lady is requesting a chef friend to teach her how to cook.

Lady:  My friend, how delicious! What dish is this? (Kaibigan, ang sarap! Ano’ng luto “yan?)

Chef Friend: This is adobo, chicken adobo.  (Ito ay adobo, manok na adobo.)

Lady: Is it hard to do? (Mahirap bang gawin ‘yan?)

Chef Friend: It’s quite easy, very simple. (Madali lang, simpleng-simple.)

Lady: Please teach me. What are the ingredients? (Turuan mo naman ako. Ano ang mga sahog?)

Chef friend: Chicken, garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, water, pepper, and a little sugar. (Manok, bawang, suka, toyo, tubig, paminta, at konting asukal.)

Lady: How do you cook it? (Paano mo ito niloloto?)

Chef Friend: Just marinate the chicken in a mixture of garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, water, pepper, and a little sugar in 30 minutes. (Ibabad mo lang ang manok sa pinaghalong bawang, suka, toyo, tubig, at paminta  ng trenta minutos.)

Lady: What's next? (Tapos ano ang sunod?)

Chef Friend: Place the chicken in a pan and boil. Until it become tender. Then add sugar. (Ilagay mo sa kaserola at pakuluan hanggang lumambot ang manok. Saka mo idagdag ang konting asukal.)

Lady: Its sounds easy, I’ll do it. (Parang madali nga. Gawin ko to.)

Lady: Thank you friend. (Maraming salamat kaibigan.)
