How to Say the Time of the Day in Tagalog

The way to tell time in Tagalog is identical to how it would be said in Spanish.

For 1:00, you would say "ala una"

For any other time, you would say "alas" followed by the Spanish number.

For example

  • 2:00 would be alas-dos.
  • 3:00 would be alas-tres.
  • 10:00 would be alas-diyes.

To say :30 you would add "y medya"

To say :45 you would add an hour to the time and say "subtract quarter of an hour" like this.

  • 5:45 would be "alas-sais menos kuwarto" or "menos kuwarto para alas-sais"
