Using “mag” plus the verbs

Mag is added on the front of some verbs. Mag means ‘to do’ in English.

 

Laro – Play
Maglaro – To play

Sulat – Write
Magsulat – To write

Aral – Study
Mag-aral – To study

Trabaho – Work
Magtrabaho – To work

Soot – Wear
Magsoot – To wear

Luto – Cook
Magluto – To cook

Lakad – Walk
Maglakad – To walk

 

Example Sentences:


We need to cook food.
Kailangan na nating magluto ng pagkain.

Maglaro tayo doon bukas.
We play there tomorrow.

Mahal ko ang magsulat.
I love to write.

Gusto kung mag-aral
I want to study.

We need to work now.
Kailangan na nating magtrabaho ngayon.
