The use of (sa) “iyo” in a Sentence

In Tagalog, "iyo" means "you" or "yours", but they also may add "sa" in front of it expressing "to you". Here are some sentence examples of how "iyo" is used in Tagalog.

I apologize for the poor English translations but this was written by a native Filipina. I would correct the English but am afraid doing so would ruin the translation since I am not well versed in Tagalog...

Sentence example:

  1. Para sa iyo ang kaharian ko. (Yours is my kingdom.)
  2. Ako ay para sa iyo. (I am yours.)
  3. Para sa iyo ang pag-ibig ko. (My love is yours.)
  4. Para iyo ang kaluwalhatian. (Yours is the glory.)
  5. Aking itatanong sa iyo. (I ask you.)
  6. Ako’y magbibilin tungkol sa iyo. (I give orders concerning you.)
  7. Sinomang magsasabi sa iyo? (Whoever speaks to you?)
  8. Ibinalik sa iyo ng Panginoon. . (The Lord returned upon you.)
  9. Mga kamay ng lahat ay nasa iyo. (The hands of all are with you.)
  10. Sila’y nagsibangon laban sa iyo. (They stood up against you.)
