‘What’s the catch’ in Tagalog

March 7, 2012

‘What’s the catch’ means what you’ll gonna do in return or what you gonna do to get such thing.

‘What’s the catch?’ in Tagalog means ‘Ano ang kapalit?’

‘What’s the catch’ is mostly used when someone is selling on you. Just like when someone selling a medicine then he will said this, ‘This is good for your health because this is all natural.’ (Tagalog: Maganda ito sa kalusugan mo dahil lahat ng ito ay natural.) If someone says like this then ask them this way, ‘I know already the benefits so what’s the catch?’ (Tagalog: Alam ko na ang pakinabang ano na ang kapalit?).

You can also use these Tagalog sentences as the same meaning of ‘What’s the catch?’:

  • Ano na ang kapalit?
  • Ano ang gagawin ko sayo?
  • Ano ang gagawin kong kapalit?
  • Ano ang gagawin ko para makuha ko yan?
  • What’s the catch with this? – Ano ang kapalit nito?
  • What’s the catch of your product? – Ano ang kapalit ng produkto mo?
  • So what’s the catch now? – Ano na ang kapalit ngayon?
